DJ Equipment for Downloaded MP3 Music
As a budding DJ, you must always be on the lookout for the latest available music to play on your DJ equipment. Your audience always demands for the best and always gets the same from you. Keeping this in mind, you always search the net for the latest songs that are available over there. You know that it is illegal to download copyrighted songs without paying their royalty charges hence you download these songs only from authorized sites. Yet, there are certain problems which makes it difficult to play the songs that you download from the net. While some of them play without a hitch, most of them refuse to play.
A lot rests on the type of DJ gear you are using. Some of them might not be compatible with the format of music you have downloaded from the net. Songs that are available for download from the net are generally in the .MP3 format, whereas the songs available on CDs are in the .CDR format. The reason of using the .MP3 format for songs that are hosted on the net instead of the .CDR format is apparent when you compare the file size of the same song in both the .MP3 and in the .CDR format.
The difference in the file size is huge. A normal CD can accommodate approximately 14 songs in the .CDR format. Compare that with the hundreds of MP3’s that can be burned on a CD. Since you are downloading songs from the net, and most such songs are in the .MP3 format, it is recommended that you purchase DJ equipment that has the capability to playback songs in the .MP3 format. Just search the net and you will be surprised. Most of the current generation DJ equipment has support for the .MP3 format. You might not believe it, but you need not shell out a huge amount of money for such turntables.
Even the entry level turntables nowadays provide support for MP3 playback, and most of the leading manufacturers are providing this option in their turntables. Most such turntables also have the facility to play your MP3 collection either from a CD or also from a USB device. There is no longer any need for you to burn the songs on a CD. Since the file size of the MP3 songs are quite small you can store hundreds of them in the latest generation USB drives that boast storage capabilities of 64GB and more.
If the songs are not popular, just remove them from the storage device and fill up the free space with newer songs. You can easily connect these turntables to your DJ mixer with the help of readily available cables and get ready for the next show. It is wise to check out whether the turntable you are purchasing is compatible with your current mixer or not. This can be found out by either checking out the specifications of the same on the net or sending an email to the manufacturer.
